Hotel Reservations
A hotel reservation link will be sent on your VLI registration confirmation.
If your request for dates is denied by the system, the problem may be that you are trying to reserve dates outside of our block – or in a room category that has been filled. While we block a few rooms on either side of the Institute, we do not take rooms a week or so before or after the conference. If you get a bounce – try changing the dates and/or room type.
Room Rates
Hotel rates are for single or double occupancy and subject to applicable state and local taxes (currently 13.416%) in effect at time of check in.
Each extra person sharing a room will be charged an additional $75 plus tax per night. There will be no charge for children under the age of 18 sharing the same room with their parents and utilizing existing bedding.
The above rates will be made available from Thursday, January 21 to Monday, February 1, 2027.
Cancellation of reservations made up to 14 days prior to arrival will be accepted and the deposit refunded for those rooms for the full night’s stay.
For reservations cancelled within 14 days prior to arrival,
individuals will be responsible for 100% of room revenue billed to the individual credit card on file.
Reservations must be received by December 28, 2026. All reservations after that date will be on a space available basis at the Hotel’s then current available rate.
A discounted Resort Experience Fee of $20 (plus tax) per room per night is not included in the above room rates. The following amenities are bundled into this charge:
- High speed internet
- Self-parking for one vehicle per room
- Resort shuttle services
- Snorkel equipment rental
- 24 hour access to fitness center
- Cultural history tours, arts and crafts
- Two Fairmont Orchid reusable water bottles per room
- 45-minute photoshoot on grounds of the hotel

Airport Transfer
The Kona International Airport (airport code KOA) is approximately 20 miles from the hotel. The hotel does not provide shuttle service.
